Preparing Pawpaw Seed
For the best results, clean seeds thoroughly, removing all fruit pulp. Cleaned seeds may be sanitized by soaking for 5 minutes in a 10% Clorox solution (1 part Clorox, 9 parts water). Rinse seeds well. Place in zip-lock bags, mixed with an equal volume of slightly moist peat moss (1 cup of peat moss to 1 cup seeds). Seeds should be chilled in a refrigerator for at least 3 months before planting. Do not let the seeds dry out! Do not freeze the seeds!
