Program Focus

To provide assistance to small family farmers and limited resource farmers in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Through outreach efforts we notify farmers of programs available to them from various USDA Agencies. Develop alternative farming enterprises for farmers in central and western Kentucky. Assist farmers with record-keeping and completion of financial data. This project is an extension education program funded by the National Office of Outreach's Small Farmer Outreach Training and Technical Assistance Program (SFOTTAP) and the Kentucky State University Extension Program (KSUCEP) in cooperation with the University of Kentucky.

Family home rebuilt as a result of participation in the Small Farm Program at KSU.		 Edwin Chavous, KSU Area Agent for Small Farm Program, assists farmers in completing a water quality plan. A Lincoln County homeowner and cooperator on the KSU SFOTTAP receives a USDA Rural Development loan.
