Morrison-Evans Outstanding Scientist Award
The Morrison-Evans Outstanding Scientist Award is named in honor of Dr. Richard D. Morrison, President Emeritus, Alabama A&M University and Congressman Frank E. Evans of Colorado. Dr. Morrison and Mr. Evans provided leadership in seeking research and extension funds for the 1890 institutions under the Second Morrill Act of 1890. The award is the highest honor given to an 1890 scientist by the Association of Research Directors and carries a cash sum of $1,000.
Selection Criteria1. The person must have participated or be currently participating in agriculturally-related research at one of the ARD member institutions.
2. The person must hold an academic or professional appointment at one of the ARD member institutions.
3. The person must have demonstrated national leadership in a field of agriculturally-related research to include participation in the development of research goals, policies, and plans.
4. The person must have used his or her experience in research to train undergraduate and/or graduate students at one of the ARD member institutions.
5. The person must be an active member of state and national professional societies associated with his or her field of research.
6. The person must have published extensively in refereed journals and other scholarly publications.
7. The person must have secured extramural funding in support of his or her research at an ARD member institution. (Note: Evans-Allen Funds should not be included).
8. The person must have demonstrated public service involvement and selected activities of actual and potential implications of research to the public need.

A brief description (one-half page) of current research, overall research accomplishments and outstanding achievements.
Contributions to Teaching and Extension Program (10 points):
Publications (20 points):
a. List complete citations of all published
refereed papers.
b. List non-refereed papers, station reports and
abstracts.
Public Service (5 points):
Note: Attach copies of two refereed papers that nominee considers his or her most outstanding publications.
