The Third International Pawpaw Conference

September 9-10, 2011, Frankfort, Kentucky

Call for Abstracts

To present a scientific poster or oral presentation, please submit the title of your presentation and a one-paragraph summary (abstract) to the Program Committee via our Abstract Submission Form and either email the form to or Ms. Susan Templeton, Pawpaw Conference Program Committee, Atwood Research Facility, Kentucky State University, Frankfort, KY 40601, U.S.A. Abstracts must be submitted to the Program Committee no later than July 15, 2011. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Program Committee. The Committee will determine whether the topic and content of each abstract is acceptable for presentation at the Conference. Depending on time constraints, some oral presentations may be converted to poster presentations so that they may be included in the program. Authors will also be invited to submit full manuscripts for peer review for inclusion in the conference proceedings to be published in the journal HortTechnology. All conference attendees will receive a reprint of the proceedings upon publication. The Associate Editor will reserve the right to shorten submitted papers and reject papers that do not meet the editor’s standards. If you wish to submit an abstract so that you can present a talk or poster, please prepare it using the abstract preparation guidelines.

Guidelines for preparing your abstract:
-Text of abstracts must be 250 words or fewer.
-Abstracts must be single-spaced throughout.
-Use a short and specific title.
-Use standard, well-known abbreviations when the use of abbreviations is necessary.
-When using abbreviations for chemical compounds, spell out the name in full at the first mention and follow with the abbreviation in parenthesis; use the abbreviation thereafter.
-Do not abbreviate compounds in the title of the abstract. Any special symbols --e.g., Greek letters-- that cannot be entered through our electronic submission form should be spelled out.
-When submitting your abstract, please fill out the form as completely as possible.

Non-scientist or enthusiasts who wish to present a poster or talk on their interest in pawpaw should also submit a paragraph summary to the conference program committee so that poster space can be reserved. There is no limit to the number of posters that an author can present, but space limitation will dictate the maximum number of posters accepted for the Conference. A space 1.2 x 1.2 m (4’ x 4’) will be available for each poster presented by scientists and non-scientists.
